Bluetongue virus type 17 can exist in a latent state in MDBK cells.

چکیده
An infection with bluetongue virus type 17 can be regulated by the temperature of incubation to be either persistent, producing low levels of virus; lytic, producing a high titer of released virus; or latent, producing no detectable virus. The persistent and latent states are reversible.

PCR detection of thymidine kinase gen of latent herpes simplex Virus type 1 in mice trigeminal ganglia
Herpes simplex virus type 1 establishes a latent infection in the peripheral nervous system following primary infection. During latent infection, virus genome exhibit limited transcription, with the HSV LATs consistently detected in latency infected ganaglia. Following ocular infection viral latency develops in the trigeminal ganglia. In this study PCR has been used for detection of HSV-1 nuc...
متن کاملSero-prevalence of bluetongue disease in sheep in west and northwest provinces of Iran
The objective of this study was to describe the seroprevalence rates of bluetongue virus (BTV) in sheep in west and northwest provinces of Iran. Bluetongue virus, an economically important orbivirus of the Reoviridae family, causes a hemorrhagic disease mainly in sheep and occasionally in cattle and some species of deer. Bluetongue virus is transmitted between its mammalian hosts by ce...
متن کاملExpression of bluetongue virus group-specific antigen VP3 in insect cells by a baculovirus vector: its use for the detection of bluetongue virus antibodies.
DNA representing RNA segment 3 of bluetongue virus (BTV) serotype 17, corresponding to the gene that codes for a group-specific antigen VP3, has been inserted into a baculovirus transfer vector in lieu of the 5' coding region of the polyhedrin gene of Autographa californica nuclear polyhedrosis virus (AcNPV). After cotransfection of Spodoptera frugiperda cells with wild-type AcNPV DNA in the pr...
متن کاملAppling real time RT-PCR for bluetongue virus detection in Iran
During 2009-10, real time RT-PCR and conventional RT-PCR techniques Used for detecting BTVs RNA in 310 blood samples. For real time and gel based RT-PCR segment-1 and segment-10 selected as conserve genes to search any BTV strains. Using these methods, 58 (%18.7) and 14 (%4.5) positive samples were detected among the clinically suspected sheep. Sensitivity of both molecular techniques evalua...
